Add a new domain to the observation

Observation of a website against content theft Add a domain to the plagiarism observation. PlagAware offers the possibility of automatic observation of websites against content theft in all price versions. In a first step you define the domain of your internet presence to be observed in the user area of PlagAware. Therefore a one-time registration is necessary, where you enter your mail address and password.

Authentification and set-up of a domain

Authentification and set-up of a domain The domain to be observed was found and will now be checked by PlagAware. The proof that the given page is in fact operated by you is of particular importance. You have to provide such evidence by copying an empty file with a defined name into the root directory of your website. Optionally you can insert the content protection banner and define the areas to be observed.

Your control centre: the user area of PlagAware

Your control centre: the user area of PlagAware Your control centre: the user area of PlagAware After the acquisition of your domain to be observed you will be guided to your user area, which virtually represents the control centre of all available functions. You obtain the list of all domains and single pages to be observed as well as the found potential plagiarisms, technical settings of the plagiarism scanner and the contract details.

Checking the status of the domains to be observed

Checking the status of the domains to be observed With the list of your observed domains you obtain an overview about the number of observed and paused pages of your respective internet presences. Besides you see how many potential plagiarisms have been found. Furthermore you reach additional functions for the indexing and administration of your domains.

Checking the status of all observed websites

Checking the status of all observed websites A click on an observed domain shows the observed single pages in detail. Here you can see the status of the observed pages, collect further information about the respective pages or explicitly exclude single pages from the further observation.

Display potential plagiarisms of your observed pages

Display potential plagiarisms of your observed pages You find all pages, which are under suspicion of being content theft in the potential plagiarisms screen. Besides the status of the potential plagiarism of your page, the next tasks, the last action, the address of the suspicious page and the rate of congruency are displayed. Furthermore there are functions to change the status or to enter the found potential plagiarism into the White-list.

Analyse and rate potential plagiarisms

Analyse and rate potential plagiarisms The details view for every potential plagiarism shows a graphical presentation of the congruent contents and a screenshot of the page which is under suspicion of content theft. The graphical assignment of the copied contents makes it easier to rate, whether the found potential plagiarism does in fact - and to what degree copy your contents. Here you take the decision, whether PlagAware shall always continue to observe the found page, whether it shall inform you only upon changed contents or whether it shall ignore it completely in the future.

Tracing plagiarisms of your website and content theft

Tracing plagiarisms of your website and content theft With further views you can make personal notes in the history of the website-plagiarism and define new tasks for the further tracing of this page as well as find out more information about the website operator with the integrated 'Whois' function. Let PlagAware automatically inform you, when new tasks arise like recontacting the copying person or when the contents of the traced page is changed, e.g. when the copy of your page is deleted.

Conservation of evidence and creation of PDF reports

Conservation of evidence and creation of PDF reports There are report functions for all central functions like the comparison of two websites (example), the conservation of contents / evidence of websites (example) and the plagiarism assessment (example). By them the corresponding data can be stored in the PDF format and archived for further use.
